Fortunato Restagno Kyoshi 7th Dan

Sensei Fortunato has been studying karate since 1979 and studied various karate styles. He started Shidokan karate in 2004 and was promoted to 7th degree black belt by Hanchi Iha in August 2023. Fortunato is the Chief Instructor of Grand River Karate in Waterloo, Ontario. Grand River Karate, a Shibu dojo with the Beikoku Shidokan Karatedo Association. Fortunato is direct student of Seikichi Iha and is also Director for the Association.

Fortunato supports his students Sensei Rolando Duarte Solano, who runs the Esparza Dojo in Costa Rica and Sensei Hannele Zubeck Sensei who rins the Kita Dojo in Alaska, USA.

Fortunato also conducts self defense seminars to different groups and seminars to other martial art styles.
